Rupee breaches 85-per-US dollar mark on hawkish Fed stance

The Indian rupee hit a record low of 85.07 per dollar on Thursday, pressured by the US Fed’s hawkish stance and rising US bond yields. The rupee has depreciated for four consecutive days despite RBI intervention. Foreign portfolio investors sold Rs 4,224.9 crore on Thursday.
